Meade #1401 Tube Balance Weight System for 8" Fork-Mounted SCT's

The Meade #1401 Tube Balance Weight System permits the balancing of heavy or long-lever-arm accessories attached to the eyepiece end of the telescope. Each weight assembly attaches to factory-threaded holes provided on the underside every Meade 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

Three differing weights (1, 2, & 3 lb) are supplied with each Meade #1401 Tube Balance Weight System, permitting considerable variation in the total weight available for balancing. Includes counterweight bar and mounting hardware. Because this accessory mounts to the underside of the tube assembly, it is not for use with German equatorial mounts.
